Because there are no plates to make and set-up time is minimal, you can print exactly what you need - whether that's 50 personalised invitations or 10,000 leaflets - and have them on your desk within days. When run lengths grow beyond a few thousand and personalisation is not required, lithographic printing typically offers better economics.

Fretwell runs its digital production on Heidelberg Versafire presses, the same manufacturer as our litho floor. That matters because FOGRA - the German printing industry standard for colour accuracy and consistency - certification carries across both processes. You get litho-grade colour without litho-scale minimum quantities. Our Ricoh Pro C651EX presses are similarly FOGRA certified, providing additional capacity for high-volume personalised runs and same-week despatch capability on urgent jobs.

Variable data capability means every printed piece can carry a unique name, address, image or personalised message, driven directly by your data file. This makes digital print ideal for personalised direct mail, donor communications, loyalty programmes and any campaign where relevance drives response. The data work - list hygiene, deduplication and file preparation - is handled by our data processing team, ensuring clean, accurate records flow into production.
